About Eric Weis : Eric Weis for Kendall County State's AttorneyEric was born and raised right here in Kendall County. He grew up in Oswego, where he attended Oswego High School, excelling in football and baseball. He was a member of the Oswego Presbyterian Church. After graduating with honors, Eric attended North Central College where he received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Marketing while working full time.
After graduating early from North Central College, Eric was accepted to Northern Illinois University Collage of Law. Once again, Eric graduated with honors and received his law degree. During law school, Eric was actively involved in both the Mock Trial Team and the Moot Court Competition. Throughout law school, Eric worked for the Kendall County State's Attorney's Office as a law clerk and was allowed to practice in the courtroom, handling real criminal cases, including felony offenses, under the direction of a senior attorney.
After being admitted to the Illinois Bar and Federal Bar later that same year, Eric had offers for several higher-paying jobs, but he chose to stay with the Kendall County State's Attorney's Office. Under former State's Attorney Tim McCann, Eric became the youngest prosecutor in the State's Attorney's Office. He quickly worked his way through the ranks and in 2002 become the First Assistant State's Attorney. Eric continues to serve Kendall County as our State's Attorney.
Eric currently lives in Yorkville with his lovely wife, Jody. Jody is a stay at home mother for their two children, Justin and Ryan. They also have a wonderful black lab named Bear. They are members of the St. Patrick's Church in Yorkville.
Members of Eric's family are also long-time Kendall County residents. His father and step-mother, Jack and Renee Weis, reside in Oswego. Jack is the owner of Weis Real Estate in Oswego, while Renee works for Dreyer Medical Clinic in Aurora. His mother and step-father, Terri and Nels Moe, live in Newark. Terri is a registered nurse and Nels is a farmer and furnisher refinisher. Eric's grandmother, Hazel Weis, also lives in Oswego. Eric's sister, Kristine Weis, is a high school teacher at Plainfield Central High School and resides in Plainfield.
